| Dinorock
Productions, Inc. - Silver Spring, Maryland |
| |
Dinorock Productions has
made six guest appearances at the Puppet Co. Playhouse.
The company began in 1984 with the production of the first
album, called Dinosaur Rock , the story of an eccentric
yodeling palaeontologist whose magic spells can bring
dinosaurs back to life. The recording led to a show, which
lead to the formation of a touring company. Since then
the company has produced two more dinosaur shows: The
Great Dinosaur Mystery and Dinosaur Babies . They have
been on the road for almost 13 years. The characters in
these shows, Dinah Diplodocus, Stella Stegosaurus and
her baby Doris, Tootsie Triceratops and her baby True
Blue, Alphie the Alphadon (a mammal), Hot Dog (the Big,
Bad Baby Rex), Tina Titanosaurus, Cammie Camarosaurus
and a whole flock of pterodactyls are now looking to stay
home and work on video projects, as they are feeling their
age, and on-the-roadness has lost its charm for our prehistoric
thespians. |

| Randel
McGee - Central California |
| |
Ventriloquist Randel McGee
found Groark in 1978, and they have been inseparable ever
since. Through the magic of ventriloquism and puppetry,
they transcend language and cultural differences and bring
people together through the common ties of laughter, learning
and song. Their delightful presentations encourage kids
to be kind and thoughtful, to respect themselves and others,
to make ethical choices and to work out their conflicts
peacefully and fairly.
Randel has worked as an artist-in-residence, a literature
consultant, university instructor, and storyteller. In
1991 and 1992 he was selected as U.S. representative to
international puppet festivals in Japan and Korea, and
he and Groark have toured those countries as well as most
of the U.S.
In addition to his puppetry, Randel performs in costume
as Hans Christian Andersen, telling stories and cutting
elaborate designs out of paper. He lives in central California
with his wife, five children, and dragon. |
