What's
"The Sorcerer's Apprentice" About???
If "Any technology sufficiently advanced
is perceived as magic," then young Leo is torn
between two worlds. While he wants to be a great sorceror,
his mentor, Master Bartholomew seeks to open his mind
to the world of science. Playfully based on Goethe's
poem, the production makes extensive use of Paul Dukas'
familiar symphonic composition, without being "mickey
mouse" about it.
